At midseason we gave you nominees for some of our awards. Now that the season is over we have decided on the finalists and added a few more awards. We will reveal a few awards for you today.  Worst Coach with the best team award, and the Captain Planet Award.

Worst coach with best team Award

a.k.a. No excuse

Winner: Michael Curry

How can you not get this team to be higher than an 8 seed in the east?  Just last year they were #2.  The team hasn’t changed that much.  They have a replacement for Chauncey Billups and they had Allen Iverson for most of the season.  Iverson is a born winner.

And here is a brand new award,

Captain Planet Award

This award goes to the player was made up of the same five elements that made up Captain Planet.  The criteria is below.

1.  Earth: rock solid defense

2.  Fire: have the ability to get hot at any moment of the game

3.  Wind:  blow by opponents and hang in the air as they sky for a jam

4. Water:  have a jumper like water

5. Heart:  have the heart to play every play like it’s their last

Winner: Dwayne Wade

C.J. says:  “It’s no question that D.Wade wins this award.  He has all these elements and more in his game.    He’s got rock solid defense, is on fire more than players in NBA Jam, hangtime like Jordan,  his jumper is water, and the heart of a champion.”
